Riverwalk and Public Outdoor Wedding Venues, Weather & Ambient Sound : Marriage Island, LLC is not liable for weather related occurrences. Temperatures exceeding 100 degrees in the summer months and cold or freezing temperatures in winter months are considered normal weather conditions. Weather related changes are not refundable. We do not have the option of or provide day of back-up options for your event at this venue. If you are concerned about weather, it is recommended that you reserve an indoor venue along with your reservation of Marriage Island. This will guarantee that you have a back-up location in the event of unforeseen weather conditions.The San Antonio Riverwalk is a public area and is thereby occasionally subject to adverse weather conditions, ambient noise, public foot traffic, ambient sound from restaurants, parties, parades, vehicle traffic, tour groups, and events. While these weather occurrences and ambient sounds are generally minimal and non disturbing we have no control over the weather or over times when environmental sounds may be increased due to construction, private or public events held on the Riverwalk, nearby streets, hotels or restaurants. You are reserving a public outdoor venue and should reasonably expect the possibility of environmental noise or adverse weather conditions. We can not possibly tell you what days it may rain, snow, sleet, hail, or a tornado, flood or other act of god or nature will occur. We have agreed to provide services at Marriage Island on the riverwalk, (or at a location you have selected) It is therefore your responsibility to secure a secondary location in the event or concern of adverse conditions. Additionally we can not possibly be made aware by other groups, organizations, hotels, restaurants, etc. of every event, party, or private reservation of public or private spaces along the riverwalk and downtown areas. We can not stop, block, or impeed vehicular or pedestrian traffic on walkways, waterways or public spaces for your event. There is no refund for situations or circumstances beyond our direct control.
Permit Enforcement Procedures: Marriage Island LLC -The Ministry at San Antonio, will guarantee your reservation of Marriage Island through an officially obtained City of San Antonio Permit. This permit is a binding agreement between our company and the city for exclusive private use of public space during the time reserved. The Ministry at San Antonio will employ the forces of the San Antonio Parks Police Department to enforce your permit in the event of a conflict. Warning: You can be fined and receive a citation for unauthorized or non permited use of these facilities.
No Show Policy: Events are booked in 30 minute increments. A couple will be determined to be a "no show" and the officiant is authorized to withdraw service without refund or penalty : if client has not appeared on site within 20 minutes past the scheduled event time. Officiant reserves the right for his / her time and schedule to be respected (as they will respect yours) . if you are running late you must appear on site within 20 minutes of the scheduled time of your event.
Late policy: We absolutely will not delay another wedding service due to a delay of the previous service under any circumstance. If your ceremony begins late, officiant reserves the right to compress the ceremony for time allowed, or to reschedule your event for the next available time. Client understands and agrees that officiants are contracted for a maximum 30 minutes of on site time. Officiants often perform several services in one day and are not contracted to any couple for the whole day nor an undetermined length of time. Your ceremony must begin on time. It is the responsibility of the client to ensure that the ceremony begins on time.
Refund / Cancellation Policy: Policy change effective for all dates booked beginning March 11 2014: All payments received for any wedding package, a la carte enhancements, or services whether partial or in full are considered a retainer to serve as a financial guarantee against lost income to Marriage Island, LLC. Payments are non refundable. Client understands and agrees that Marriage Island, LLC has reserved a date and time for the client, has begun working on behalf of the client at the time of reservation, advising client, preparing materials, permitting events, securing vendors, etc. and will not book other sessions during this specific date and time. Marriage Island LLC is entitled to compensation for the time, efforts, shared knowledge, expertiese, advice, event related correspondence, operating costs, payroll, overhead, advertising, etc. related to securing client and working on their behalf. In the event that Client cancels or fails to attend the session on the Session Date, for any reason, this creates even more work for our staff to undo the work they have already done on behalf of the client, Marriage Island shall suffer additional losses that are difficult to ascertain including payment responsibility for vendor services, venue, permits, etc.. As such, Client agrees that, in the event of cancelation by Client, such fees paid shall be forfeited by Client and paid to Marriage Island, LLC as liquidated damages and not as a penalty. Client and Marriage Island, LLC agree that such amount is reasonable.”. Reservations for event date, time, and services will be canceled if full payment has not been received according to terms of agreement whether verbal or written. Helicopter wedding refunds: There is an exception for Helicopter wedding refunds only in the event of adverse weather conditions that cause air traffic control or Helicopter company to cancel flights for the date or time you have reserved and only under the condition the helicopter charter company continues to agree to allow a refund. Fees paid for Helicopter will be refundable due to weather conditions that prevent flight under this condition, However, Fees for reatining ministers scheduling and services will remain non refundable as outlined above. Refunds will not always be "instant" and may take as much time as is required to receive them from the individual vendor. There are many factors, vendors, and contractor services in play for wedding packages, we can not "float" or "front" a refund for you on behalf of a contractor vendor, city or state office, or override individual vendor policies for your convenience.
Prior to March 11 2014 : Payment must be made in full at time of reservation. The first $100 of payment is retained as a non-refundable deposit. Fees for permits and permit procurement are non-refundable once a city issued permit has been obtained. Fees for event planning are refundable as long as planning process has not yet begun. Event Planning Fees: the first $500 of the fees for event planning are not refundable. fees paid to vendors may or may not be refundable depending upon vendors policy. Remaining balance for officiants fee is refundable for up to 60 Days from the date of payment. Following 60 days from date of payment, all fees become non-refundable. Any event canceled with less than 30 days notice before the event date, even before the 60 day refundable period expires is also non refundable. Exceptions to standard refund policy : All bookings between Thanksgiving day January 1st are final upon reservation. These dates will not be refunded if canceled. Additional non refundable dates : Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Years Eve, and Valentines Day are final upon reservation and will not be refunded if canceled. We will not refund solely on the discriminatory basis of gender, nationality, race, or color of the officiant. We are not responsible for the weather, cancellations due to Rain and other unforseen weather conditions are non refundable.

Notice of Photographic and or Video Recording: Events performed by Marriage Island LLC and The Ministry at San Antonio and or on Marriage Island may be videotaped, recorded, or photographed by staff members and or photographers working in partnership with Marriage Island LLC and The Ministry at San Antonio. By entering the area of a ceremony performed by Marriage Island LLC and The Ministry at San Antonio you irrevocably grant to Marriage Island LLC and The Ministry at San Antonio the right to videotape, record, or photograph your image and to own, license, assign, and or use the same forever and throughout the world in any manner or medium including, without limitation, in advertising or promotion of Marriage Island LLC, The Ministry at San Antonio and or Marriage Island. You will not receive any payment for such use and waive any right to bring any action in law or equity against Marriage Island LLC, The Ministry at San Antonio, its related companies, subsidiaries, (whether or not wholly owned) , affiliates, divisions, and their past, present or future officers, agents, assigns, representatives, employees, or successors for such use. You acknowledge that you are at least 18 years of age. If you are under the age of 18 you represent that you have obtained your parent or guardians consent to enter said area and be bound by the terms set forth herein. If you do not agree to the above terms and do not wish to be photographed or videotaped please stay out of the ceremony area while photography or video recording is taking place. We Reserve the Right to Decline to Accept Your Business
We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone. This includes current and or prospective clients who exhibit abusive and or unreasonable conduct or expectations which make it impossible or unreasonably difficult for us to perform services, including non compliance with guest counts. Such conduct or abusive treatment of our staff may result in immediate withdrawal of, or refusal of service without refund.
